Creative Kids Express (CKE) is seeking Area Developers/Drama Teachers. CKE is a creative arts studio whose primary audiences are young people ages 2-18 and their families. Annually serving approximately 300 students CKE is unique among after school activity providers for youth by placing emphasis on offering high quality children's programs and comprehensive creative arts educational offerings.

CKE's main facility was created as an original approach to theatre arts education, learning and the creative expression. The studio's mission: Giving children an outlet for Creative Expression.

As an Area Developer you will lead and manage CKE's comprehensive theatre arts education experience, delivering a full scope of classes, community initiatives, and summer camps. This senior-level position, is responsible for bringing the studio's vision and it's programs to communities in and around Fort Bend and Bellaire/West University. The Area Developer will teach classes, develop professional contacts locally and market the programs to the community in a creative manner, representing CKE/Drama Kids at schools and education meetings or events. The Area Developer also works closely with the marketing department to develop promotional and marketing material. The are developer will be responsible for distribution of all marketing materials within their areas.

As a member of CKE's team, the Area Developer creates long-range plans and strategic goals, in accordance with CKE's corporate long range plan.
Candidates must have:
Demonstrated strategic and leadership experience at a senior level, including experience leading a team.

Experience in teaching, creating, developing and implementing theatre education programs.

Proven budgeting and financial management skills.

Strong organizational, planning, writing and communication skills, including experience building community relationships.

Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Theatre Education, Arts Management or related field or commensurate experience. 5+ years of experience in Arts Education, Arts Outreach or related field.
The anticipated start date will be Fall 2011

What are we? We are not a theatre business. We are a teaching organization! We utilize a wide range of drama activities to teach children, and young adults how to speak up clearly and confidently so they can express themselves, and think creatively. Our area developers/teachers are people who wish to use their child development skills and business acumen to build a dynamic, fun, and successful classroom experience for the kids in their community. Drama experience is not required but preferred. We would like experience in the teaching, and child development fields, plus we also looking for a business/management/marketing background as well.

The Drama Kids classes are held throughout communities in schools, community centers, and many other similar locations.. Drama Kids Summer Camps are offered to meet the growing demand for quality summer camps and teen workshops. You will be assigned a territory to grow and develop on your own. What this means to you, is freedom. You are free to set your class schedule so that you can also have a life outside of business to dedicate to your family. You can customize your hours to meet your specific teaching and personal objectives.You must bring an entreprenual spirit to the job and enjoy a challenge.

Our program is a highly unique teaching program that is unlike any other drama program offered today. We use a specialized curriculum combined with customized teaching techniques to ensure that each student – regardless of age, ability, or personality - receives quality instruction, fast paced fun, and well deserved recognition. The magic of creative dramatic arts participation combined with our delivery techniques and copyrighted curriculum results in fantastic results for our students and loyal customers. Many of our students stay with us for several years. Class offerings include preschool, kinderkids, lower primary, upper primary, teens and adults. We offer programs in age groups so you may start with the age level you feel most comfortable in, and then can expand into other age groups over time.
